You want to know about the latest gadgets, the latest laptop computers, the best televisions on the market. How do you keep up? With new technology breaking through the clouds seemingly every few seconds, especially when you consider the new computer you purchased just last week that is now getting pushed aside for another model, what can you do to stay in line?

Here are some ideas:

  • Stay up on the latest news online. If you have efficient wireless internet providers giving you high-speed connection, you can have up to the minute updates of the freshest releases anytime you want. Whether you find a great news site or a terrific blog run by a professional with an eye on technology, check in at least once a week to learn of new ideas and new products.
  • Start a group either online or off—and meet together on a monthly basis and discuss trends in technology. This may be trends as it relates to business, family, or personal interest.
  • Read all you can from technical magazines such as Wired or PC Magazine. Often, these magazines are in need of more readership and will offer a 6-month trial.
  • Use your computer on a daily basis. Learn what you don’t know and become more expert in what you do.
  • Don’t be afraid to learn more things by asking questions. If you’re at an electronic store and the salesman speaks some technical jargon, don’t nod like you understand him if you don’t. Ask what the term means and learn something.

Keeping up with technology in every arena is probably not possible, but focusing on your interests and keeping up with your quickly changing niche, more than likely, is.
